Mrs. Dygert’s classroom has been completing STEM activities over the summer and yesterday they concocted their own homemade ice cream in a bag! The class put half and half, sugar, and vanilla in a quart sized bag as well as ice and rock salt in a gallon sized bag. They placed the quart sized bag in the gallon sized bag and shook it vigorously for 10 minutes…how tiring! After 10 minutes of shaking, ice cream was created and it was delicious! To continue with the STEM topic, the classroom was able to make predictions and discuss freezing points, melting points, and states of matter. Thank you to Mrs. Dygert for sharing and for giving us the necessary tools to make our own home made ice cream experience!
