Non-Secure Detention (NSD)

It is our goal to keep youth safe while going through the Family Court Process. Sometimes when youth are going through this process, the judge assesses that there is a safety risk that requires the youth to be detained either during the court proceedings or until the teen is successfully placed to receive treatment. These are the youth who come to Non-Secure Detention.

Only youth who are adjudicated, or in the process of being adjudicated a Juvenile Delinquent, can be detained by a judge to non-secure detention. This program is located on our campus and housed at "A Cottage." While placed with us, our staff work with the local Department of Social Services to reestablish safety and assist in the transitioning of the youth their next step in the process.
