"Every man has his daydreams. Every man has his goal. People like the way dreams have of sticking to the soul," sings 17-year-old Austin. Austin has been a student at Tilton for just a short time, but his dynamic singing and performing skills have already caught the attention of our entire Tilton School. He has his sights set on Broadway, and Music Teacher, Teresa Dunn, is helping him realize his dreams.

"We have been working diligently on refining his vocal skills, dramatic readings, and modern dance. To put it plainly, I am blown away by Austin's talent, and as I am committed to helping him achieve his dreams. Miracles happen through music," said Mrs. Dunn.

Austin recently submitted his audition recordings to SUNY Fredonia, singing "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin. Austin said, "I am in the process of auditioning for a BFA in Musical Theater. Despite my depression and anxiety, I manage to keep my head high and my eye on the target. Right now, my goal is college, but my ultimate goal is Broadway! I can't wait to entertain the audience with the best show ever!"

We all wait anxiously for that day to arrive!

RTA Clinical manager, Ethan Korotzer summed it up best, "I think I speak for the RTA when I say that we are very happy that Austin is getting this opportunity. The RTA focuses on each youth's Hope (for their future) and Purpose (in their lives). Not often at the RTA have these two aspects been so clearly defined for a youth and we are all happy to try our best to make this process go through. It was a great week for our youth academically as this audition fell right after another RTA resident, Anthony passed his GED.
