Bank of America Names The House as 2024 Neighborhood Champion
The House of the Good Shepherd Receives a Multiyear Grant & Leadership Training to Expand Critical Services Locally
The House of the Good Shepherd has been recognized by Bank of America as a 2024 Neighborhood Champion for its compassionate work supporting children and families in need. The award includes a $50,000 grant over two years, leadership training for its executive director, technical coaching, and access to a national nonprofit network.
“This flexible funding and leadership training will help expand The House’s impact in Utica through programs like foster care and residential services,” said Michael Brunner, president of Bank of America Central New York.
The funding will support the creation of a recreational center and climbing gym designed to foster inclusivity and connection through physical activity.
“We are deeply honored to be named a 2024 Neighborhood Champion by Bank of America,” said Brian McKee, president and CEO, The House of the Good Shepherd. “This recognition and generous support enable us to create an innovative space where our children and families can thrive—building resilience, confidence, and meaningful connections through physical activity and teamwork. At the same time, this initiative serves as a vital community resource, fostering inclusivity across our region. Together, we are creating brighter futures and strengthening our community."
Bank of America’s Neighborhood Champions program has invested over $9 million in more than 200 nonprofits across 40+ communities since 2019, providing critical support to high-impact organizations nationwide.
