The Holiday Hopes Gift Campaign has partnered with the community for 21 years, providing hundreds of gifts for the children and families we serve. Jerry Plows, our Special Events Coordinator, was faced with challenges over the holiday season because of COVID-19, but having done it once already, these challenges were nothing he couldn't overcome.
Jerry knows how important the holidays are for the children at The House because his parents provided Foster Care, bringing many children into their home for years. The Holiday Hopes Campaign provides gifts for children and families in our community. Online giving, with multiple links, including Amazon, was implemented on our website, giving the donors a choice on how they would like to support this year. The community's response was overwhelmingly generous as Jerry's office soon looked like an Amazon warehouse! Later, the Herkimer Road Gym looked like Santa's toy factory, with many toys laid out on multiple tables, bagged up, and ready for our children to receive. Spreading Holiday Cheer is a great way to show our community that we care, and although we are faced with challenges, we rise to the occasion!
