The House of the Good Shepherd is a private, non-profit, JCAHO-accedited treatment facility for children and families that provides a broad array of inpatient, residential,foster care, and community-based services for "at-risk" children with behavioral and mental health needs.

Currently we are seeking a Part-Time(at least 30 hours per week,flexible schedule Nurse Practitioner, to provide physical health care services under the collaboration of a pediatrician, primarily for children residing in our inpatient and residential treatment programs.

-Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in NY.
-Certification in pediatrics or family practice.
-Master's degree.
-Clinical experience with children and/or families.
-Valid NYS driver's license

-Perform comprehensive physical health assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy and procedure.
-Evaluate and treat intercurrent illnesses and injuries.
-Provide medical guidance and direction for nursing and other health care staff.
-Order medication, health-related testing, treatment, referral, and therapeutic dietary regimens.
-Document above services in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy and procedures.
-Provide on-call medical consultation as needed.
-Participate in the agency's Employee Health Program per agency policy and procedures.
-Participate in clinical records review and medication review in conjunction with agency's pediatrician and psychiatrist.
-Participate in Health services committee and other related performance improvement activities.

Preferred assets include:

-Experience with children with mental health or special needs.
-Basic computer proficiency.
