-To provide nursing services within the scope of licensure granted by the State of New York in accordance with agency established job description and policies and procedures.
-Current New York State licensure/registration as a Registered Nurse.
-Current CPR Certification.
-Minimum three-five years general nursing experience; or experience with children and/or emotionally disturbed individuals; or Pediatric or mental health nursing experience.
-Participates in medication-related functions which may include, but not limited to, ordering,checking,logging in,distributing and administering residents' medications.
-Responds to any campus emergency or sick call of residents with appropriate physical assessment and first aid measures.
-Communicates pertinent medical information to programs under the direction of the Coordinator of Health Services.
-Monitors and observes staff for completion of Med. Administration Certification. Conducts initial Competency Tests.
-Conducts Biannual Medication Administration Competency Tests of staff per agency guidelines.
-Performs employee physicals for new hires and on an annual basis as directed.
-Provides employee Infection Control Update training.
-Performs Site-Specific Medication Error follow-up reviews.
-Ensures appropriate data and documentation in residents' charts via chart reviews.
-Participates in departmental and agency-wide QA-QI activities.
-Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
-Ensures adherence to established agency policy and procedure regarding Infection Control.
-Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
-An understanding of and ability to use the Nursing Process in the clinical setting (including, but not limited to, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation).
-Professional skills necessary for the provision of quality nursing care.
-Valid NYS Driver's license
