A Baby Shower Fundraiser
September 21, 2018
Carol Clossner from United Methodist Church in Clinton wanted to help children and families in our Foster Care Program and reached out to Recruiter, Sue Novak with an idea - Host a BABY SHOWER! Carol organized the women's group and on the evening of September 17, held an actual baby shower. The group brought a variety of items such as baby clothes, handmade knitted hats, toys, diapers, wipes, bottles, spoons, bibs, and stuffed animals, totaling $500. These items will be used for infants who enter into foster care.
During the shower, games were played: baby food taste-test, a relay race to diaper and dress a baby, and a look closely contest that challenged the ladies to see beyond the obvious.
Sue Novak and Jamie Andrews, Foster Home Recruiters, not only participated in the activities (who knew that Jamie was such a baby food connoisseur!) but were able to give a 20-minute presentation on our program and the need for more foster families. They learned that a few of the ladies in attendance had personal connections to foster care.
What a CREATIVE and FUN fundraising idea! We are quite thankful to our friends at the Clinton United Methodist Church!
